How to Test

You don’t need to follow a script or pretend you work in software testing.

Just use the Codex while you play Disney Dreamlight Valley. Search for the things you would normally look up. Try names you only half remember. Describe something instead of using its exact name. Use the filters. Open entries. Try it on your phone, tablet, or computer.

Basically: use it normally.

If something annoys you, confuses you, surprises you, or makes you say “Well, that’s not right…” — I want to know about it.

Things I’d Especially Love You to Try

The Codex is designed to understand more than exact item names, so feel free to get creative with search.

Try things like:

• pink crystal
• blue glowing flower
• white reptile beach
• grey primate
• crystal shard

You don't have to know what something is called. Describe what you remember and see what the Codex finds.

And if you search for something perfectly reasonable and get nothing — that is useful feedback too.

What Should I Report?

Please tell me if you find:

• Information that is wrong or missing
• A search that doesn't find what you expected
• Search results that make absolutely no sense
• Buttons, filters, or links that don't work
• Something that looks weird on your screen
• Problems scrolling or using the site on mobile
• Anything that's confusing or frustrating
• Anything else that makes you think, “MizHammie probably needs to know about this.”

Screenshots or videos are even better. They can help me see exactly what happened, how you were using the Codex, and what was on your screen when something went sideways.

Known Beta Limitations

A few things are already on the list:

• Images are placeholders.The Codex doesn't have its final item artwork yet.
• Visual-description search is still growing.The Codex understands a surprising amount of plain-English description already, but it doesn't know every visual characteristic of every item yet.
• Furniture search metadata isn't fully enriched yet.Furniture is searchable, but the deeper visual-description metadata being added to other collections hasn't been completed for the full furniture catalog.

There are also undoubtedly bugs I haven't found yet.

Please use the MizHammie Games Discord to report bugs, confusing results, suggestions, or anything else you run across while testing.

When reporting a search problem, please include exactly what you searched for and what you expected to find.

A screenshot or video is even better — especially for display, scrolling, or other weird behavior that's easier to see than explain.

You do not need to decide whether something is technically a bug. Just tell me what happened. I'll figure out what bucket it belongs in.

One Last Thing

The Moonlit Codex is being built because sometimes you don't want an article, a walkthrough, six browser tabs, and somebody's life story.

You just want to know where the damn fish is.
